The largest agricultural machinery manufacturer in Russia, Rostselmash company, will cut its long-term investment program by 100% in 2025 due to a sharp deterioration in the market situation and the lack of demand for equipment, said company co-owner Konstantin Babkin.
According to the company, in 2025, the annual collective vacation has been postponed to June in the conditions of a sharp deterioration in the market situation, this is a forced measure due to the lack of demand for equipment from farmers, and the production output program has also been reduced.
"We are cutting all possible investments - the construction of new plants has been postponed indefinitely, modernization projects that could be postponed, have been postponed. There will be no long-term investments in 2025 by 100%. Previously, there were plans to invest 17 billion rubles in the development of a foundry plant, a plant for hydrostatic transmissions. Now there will be no long-term investments at all," the agency's source said.
Earlier, the Rostselmash press service reported that in January - April 2025, grain combine harvester deliveries from all manufacturers decreased by 76% compared to the same period in 2021, and deliveries of forage harvesters and tractors decreased by almost 50%. According to the co-owner Babkin, the company has developed a plan to adapt the enterprise to the decreased demand for agricultural machinery among farmers.
The Rostselmash combine harvester plant was founded in 1929 in Rostov-on-Don. The group includes 13 enterprises producing agricultural machinery. The company's product line includes more than 150 models and modifications of 24 types of machines and units, including grain and forage harvesters, tractors, sprayers, feed harvesting, and grain processing equipment.
