According to Dmitry Patrushev, the President of Russia has set a goal for a significant increase in agricultural production by 2030. This applies to all areas of the industry, including livestock farming.
"According to the plans of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, over the next six years, meat production is expected to increase to almost 20 million tons. It is anticipated that milk production will exceed 38 million tons. One of the important factors for achieving these figures is maintaining epizootic well-being. Systematic work is currently being carried out at all levels for this purpose. This ensures the country's food security and expands export opportunities for the Russian agro-industrial complex. I would like to note that thanks to the measures of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, including the active use of digital control tools, Russia has one of the best surveillance practices in veterinary health in the world," commented Dmitry Patrushev.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that despite the complex situation with epidemics worldwide by 2025, the situation in Russia remains stable. There have been no cases of African swine fever or avian influenza identified in the industrial sector.
Dmitry Patrushev stressed the importance of conducting all preventive measures on the ground in strict compliance with veterinary safety requirements.
The meeting discussed measures to prevent diseases in wild animals.
Following the meeting, Dmitry Patrushev instructed to tighten measures to combat the spread of infections in the regions and to strengthen control over the movement of animals and products on all types of transport.
