The deputy chief of the testing laboratory of the Azov-Black Sea branch noted that in 2025 the number of processed samples of quarantine pests significantly increased by more than 43% compared to the same period in 2024.

During the first six months of last year, the branch's laboratory conducted 5.3 thousand studies, while this year the number exceeded 12 thousand.

The number of detected organisms also increased by 46.7% - by 3.8 thousand samples.

The meeting discussed issues of cooperation between the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance and the Azov-Black Sea branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TSOK APK."

The head of the Azov-Black Sea branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "TSOK APK," Andrey Ryumshin, noted that more than 12 thousand various studies have been conducted since the beginning of the year, including herbological, entomological, mycological, virological, bacteriological, and phytohelminthological ones. These results allow a more accurate assessment of threats associated with quarantine organisms and prompt response to them.

“Solving the problems associated with quarantine pests requires active work not only from the Azov-Black Sea branch, but also effective interaction with the agro-industrial sector. Launching preventive measures, informing agriculture, and popularizing phytosanitary standards are key components in combating these threats,” commented Andrey Ryumshin.

As a result of the discussions, it was decided to enhance preventive measures in Crimea, Sevastopol, as well as in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions.

Participants of the video conference came to the conclusion that the current monitoring results underline the importance of a systemic approach to combating quarantine pests and conducting educational activities in the field of phytosanitary for local producers.
