"Rapeseed yield in 2025 could set a new record thanks to the expansion of sown areas and high productivity of winter varieties."

Development of rapeseed sowings is falling behind: in 2024, 199 thousand hectares were sown (7%), in 2023 - 103.9 thousand hectares (5%), in 2022 - 140.4 thousand hectares (6%). The average yield is 18 c/ha, with spring rape having lower yields compared to winter rapeseed.

A new rapeseed harvest record is expected in 2025, possibly exceeding 6 million tons, thanks to the expansion of sowing areas and high yields of winter varieties.

The development trend of sowing lags behind the data of previous years:

  • In 2024, 199 thousand hectares (7% of the total area)
  • In 2023, 103.9 thousand hectares (5%)
  • In 2022, 140.4 thousand hectares (6%)

At the current stage, the average yield reaches 18 centners per hectare. It should be noted that the yield of spring rapeseed is traditionally lower than that of winter rapeseed.

Yield by types of rapeseed (2023-2024):

  • Spring rapeseed - 15.1-17.8 c/ha
  • Winter rapeseed - 27.3-28.1 c/ha

Despite a slower start to the harvesting campaign, a new record is expected to be set in 2025 for rapeseed collection, possibly exceeding 6 million tons. This is due to the expansion of cultivated areas, favorable climatic conditions, and high yield potential of winter varieties.
