In the Kuban region, the harvest season has begun, as stated by the head of the region Veniamin Kondratyev.
"The harvesting season has already started in the region. Currently, farmers from 19 districts have harvested more than 35 thousand hectares of grain crops, which is approximately 160 thousand tons of grain. Barley and peas are being harvested. Agricultural enterprises in the region have the necessary equipment and fuel lubricants at their disposal. Nine municipalities have declared a state of emergency due to drought, which has allowed for prompt assistance to affected farms. The overall plan of Kuban farmers includes harvesting over 1.7 million hectares of winter crops. It is worth noting that all work is carried out in cooperation with the scientific community, which allows for the efficient use of advanced technologies and increasing crop yields. We rely on the hard work of our farmers to obtain a good harvest," - wrote the head of the region.
Overall, more than 40 thousand agricultural machines are involved in the harvesting work, including almost 8 thousand combine harvesters. The harvested grain is directed to grain drying plants and elevators. The region has 45 receiving points with a storage capacity of 4.4 million tons of grain. Farmers can store another approximately 8.5 million tons of grain.
Every year, the Krasnodar region produces more than 10% of the total grain harvest in Russia. In 2024, 13.8 million tons of grain were harvested in the Kuban region, including 10.3 million tons of wheat.
