Winter crops, Wheat - Incubator

Sale of grain from the state reserve at the commodity exchange on April 25, 2025 brought in 72.3 million rubles. A total of 4725 tons of grain were sold: 675 tons of wheat from 2021, 810 tons from 2022, and 3240 tons from 2023.

The USDA has not changed the forecast for wheat production in Russia - 83 million tons, with an expected export of 48 million tons. The forecast for corn has been reduced to 14.1 million tons, with an export of 4.2 million tons. In the EU, wheat production will be 2 million tons less. Ukraine has increased wheat exports to 14 million tons. Kazakhstan will harvest 16 million tons of wheat. The global forecast for wheat production has been increased to 798.28 million tons.

In the region, 33% of spring crops and 75% of early grain crops were sown according to the plan.

Winter crops received nutrition on 682.6 thousand hectares. It is important to observe the fire safety regime from April 15 - Ministry of Agriculture of the Voronezh Region.

The president of the Russian Grain Union stated that due to duties and quotas, the number of companies exporting grain from Russia has decreased from 200 to 15. This situation indicates a market conspiracy. The projected grain harvest this year is estimated at 125 million tons.

Duties are being reduced due to the strengthening of the ruble, making exports unprofitable.

Grain prices on April 21, 2025, showed a decrease in corn, wheat, and oats prices on the CBOT and KCBT exchanges, while rough rice prices slightly increased on the CBOT.

In Tatarstan, sowing works have begun. 115 thousand hectares of early spring crops have been sown. The assessment of winter crops is positive. 680 thousand hectares of crops have been fertilized. Soil moisture is sufficient. Harrowing has been carried out on 1 million 470 thousand hectares.

Prices for wheat futures in the USA have dropped on all exchanges. In Chicago, the price has decreased by 10–11 cents, in Kansas City – by 6–7 cents, in Minnesota – by 5–7 cents.

17% of spring wheat has been planted in the USA, with 2% of the areas already sprouted, while winter wheat covers 15% of the areas. The quality assessment of winter wheat has decreased by 2 points to 45%. Rain is expected on the Great Plains.

The sowing season in the Saratov region has already begun: by April 19, 150 thousand hectares have been sown with cereals, technical, and leguminous crops, including sunflower, beetroot, soybeans, forage and vegetable crops, as well as potatoes.

In the current season in the Leningrad region, 535 hectares of spring crops have been sown, with plans to allocate 56 hectares for the next year.

In three districts, 436 hectares of grain crops have already been sown, and 6,000 hectares of winter grain crops have been fertilized. A total of 9,788 hectares of winter grain crops are planned to be sown by 2025.

The Hydrometeorological Center predicts that 6-8% of fields have sparse plantings.

The government of Great Britain has refused to use its military ships to unload Ukrainian grain from the blocked port of Odessa in the Black Sea. Negotiations are ongoing between the USA (on behalf of the UN) and Russia.

The Wall Street Journal reports on the possible lifting of sanctions on Belarusian fertilizers in exchange for transit of grain through Belarus.
