During the scientific research, seeds of a quarantine weed - parasitic plants of the genus Cuscuta spp. - were discovered, as confirmed by experts from the Federal State Budgetary Scientific Institution "VIZH".

According to Part 5 of Article 15 of the Federal Law of July 21, 2014, No. 206-FZ "On Plant Quarantine", the grain infected with the parasite was sent to a processing plant included in the register of quarantine facilities, where special technologies are used to destroy quarantine organisms.

Since the beginning of 2025, only in the Kursk region, 58.3 thousand tons of grain contaminated with parasitic vegetation and intended for shipment to other regions were discovered. All this grain was sent for processing to specialized plants included in the respective register.
