Agricultural enterprises in the Kaluga region increased production by 4% in 2024. The main priority is to produce 1 million tons of milk per year. The region has become a leader in the volume of commercial milk, increasing the annual milk yield to 10.05 thousand kg per cow. It is planned to attract 52 billion rubles of investments, increase livestock by 36 thousand heads, and use 70 thousand hectares of land.

According to the press service of the Governor and the Government of the Kaluga Region, agricultural enterprises in this region increased their production by 4% in 2024 compared to the previous year. It is also noted that the region fully provides itself with basic food products such as milk, meat, potatoes, and vegetables. The message highlights that new production directions are actively being developed in the region's agriculture.

The Minister of Agriculture of the Kaluga Region, Alexander Efremov, emphasized in his Telegram channel that the main priority for the development of agriculture is milk production. An ambitious goal is set - to produce 1 million tons of milk per year. It is planned to increase the annual production volume by 40% over the next 6-7 years. It is important to note that the Kaluga Region became the leader in the Russian Federation in increasing the volumes of commercial milk in 2024, with the average milk yield per cow reaching a record of 10.05 thousand kilograms per year.

As part of the plans to increase milk production, the Kaluga Region plans to attract investments in the livestock industry amounting to 52 billion rubles over the next 6-7 years. It is also planned to increase the milking herd by 36 thousand head, involve 70 thousand hectares of land in circulation, acquire 2400 units of agricultural machinery, and attract 2.5 thousand highly qualified workers.
