In the summer of this year, a group of enterprises under the brand "Efko" resumed the operation of their oil extraction plants located in Kropotkin and Stanitsa Tbilisskaya in the Krasnodar Territory. In March 2025, it became widely known that due to unfavorable market conditions, the operations of these enterprises were suspended. This information was provided by the press service of the corporation "Vedomosti Yug."
Representatives of the holding emphasized that there are currently no intentions to sell these assets.
According to the press service, the existing sunflower processing capacity at the Kropotkin plant reaches 1700 tons per day, and at the Tbilisskaya plant - 1500 tons per day; moreover, the plant has the capability to process rapeseed.
According to "Vedomosti Yug," in March, the decision to suspend the operations of the plants in Kuban was made due to the unstable market situation and remains in effect until conditions improve, as these enterprises are engaged in foreign trade activities. Representatives of the Efko corporation noted the high market volatility and its sensitivity to external factors.
Both plants are part of LLC "Kubanskie Masla," which is part of the Efko group of enterprises. The vegetable oil plant in Kropotkin was acquired in 2021 after the bankruptcy of LLC "YUNK-Agroproduct." Last year, the modernization of the plant was completed at a total cost of 2.5 billion rubles.
The vegetable oil plant in Stanitsa Tbilisskaya was acquired in 2018 after the financial collapse of the company "Elit-Maslo."
In April of last year, as reported by "Vedomosti," the Efko group became a co-owner of the oil-producing company named "Oleyna." According to experts, the acquisition of more than 30% of the shares of the company "Maslenitsa" could have cost the corporation around 20 billion rubles.
The Efko corporation specializes in the production of food ingredients, margarine, mayonnaise, and other products under the brand name "Sloboda," as well as Altero vegetable oil. In 2024, Efko took second place among the largest food industry enterprises in Russia according to the Infoline rating, with a total revenue of 344 billion rubles. During the past year, Efko processed 2.9 million tons of oil-bearing raw materials, which is 11% higher than the previous year.
