Analysis of wheat quality in the Kursk region: grade 4 grain with excellent characteristics.

An analysis of the wheat quality in the Kursk region has been conducted. Key characteristics of the grain, its class, and suitability for food purposes have been determined.

Harvest testing has been carried out, showing compliance with the average indicators. The state monitoring of all wheat crops in the region is planned to be free of charge.

In 2024, the region produced 2.4 million tons of wheat, 27% of which belongs to the third class (approximately 650 thousand tons).

During the analysis, key qualitative characteristics of the grain were considered, including its color, aroma, moisture level, gluten content, protein content, and other indicators. As a result of the tests, the wheat was classified as Grade 4 and deemed suitable for food purposes.

- The presented grain has excellent qualitative characteristics. It can be used to make bakery products. It is still too early to draw parallels with the quality of last year's harvest due to the limited volume of research samples. Nevertheless, it is already noticeable today that the quality of the new harvest generally corresponds to the average indicators of previous years. In some aspects, such as size, the grain characteristics even exceed standards - it is large and clean grain," emphasized Marina Ivanova, Deputy Director of the testing laboratory at the Kursk branch.

During the state monitoring, specialists will analyze all wheat grown in the region. This procedure is available free of charge to agricultural producers.

It is worth noting that in 2024, the total amount of wheat produced in the Kursk region amounted to 2.4 million tons.

The research results showed that almost a third of the entire harvest (27%) belongs to the third grade, which is about 650 thousand tons.
