Turkey sets a zero duty on sunflower seed, while simultaneously imposing a 20% tax on 400,000 tons of oil: analysis by FAS USDA.

In Turkey, a zero customs duty is set for the import of 1 million tons of sunflower seeds and 20% for 400 thousand tons of oil. The decree was published in the "Official Gazette." The quota is valid from January 12 to May 31, 2026.

In Turkey, an absolutely zero custom duty rate has been set on the import of 1 million tons of sunflower seeds. As for the import of 400 thousand tons of sunflower oil, a 20% duty applies here.

The corresponding regulation was published in the "Official Gazette of the Republic of Turkey".

The established quota will be valid from January 12 to May 31, 2026.

According to the April analysis of the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS USDA) of the US Department of Agriculture, sunflower seed production in Turkey in the current marketing year 2025–2026 will reach 1.55 million tons, while consumption will amount to 1.83 million tons, and the volume of imports will reach 400 thousand tons.
