The Efko Group of Companies is preparing to launch mayonnaise production in Tula - the application to acquire LLC "Tula Food Combine" has already been approved by the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia.

JSC "Efko Food Products" plans to acquire a 100% stake in the charter capital of the combine. The production of mayonnaise will be transferred to this site. "According to the department, the deal will not lead to a restriction of competition in the relevant market," - the service's materials say.

The head of the production site of the Tula Food Combine, Andrey Malyutin, stated on July 14 that there is about a month left before the first production is released. The company had previously reported that the first stage of the combine - the production of "Sloboda" mayonnaises - is planned to start in the autumn. When it reaches its design capacity, it will be one of the largest mayonnaise factories in Russia, with a capacity of 149 thousand tons per year.

The complex is being built at the Uzlovaya Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and involves the creation of more than 1,000 jobs. In a year, the launch of chocolate and glaze production is planned at the plant, including using new recipes with the use of sweet protein developed by Efko technologists as a sugar alternative, according to the company's website.

Recently, Efko signed an agreement with the government of the Tula region for the implementation of the second stage of the combine, which includes the start of packaged vegetable oil production, as previously stated by the director of strategic development, Vladislav Romantsev. The total investment in construction will amount to 10 billion rubles.
