Dry weather is slowing down the planting of corn and sunflower seeds in Argentina, but wheat is thriving.

In Argentina, the sowing process of corn has slowed down due to a lack of rainfall. Only 13.7% of the corn area and 10.3% of the sunflower area have been planted.

Wheat cultivation is favorable due to the rain that has fallen. The total area of planted wheat is 45.3%.

Last week, in Argentina, the planting process of corn and sunflower slowed down due to a lack of rainfall, according to the Grain Online agency citing the Buenos Aires Grain Exchange.

The corn planting progressed by only 3.2% over the week. The main work was carried out in the Entre Rios province, to the east of Santa Fe, and in the center of the Buenos Aires province, where some soil moisture is still preserved. By October 3, 13.7% of the planned area was planted, which is below the average level for this date.

Only 10.3% of the expected 1.95 million hectares were planted with sunflower. The pace of sunflower planting significantly lags behind the average and previous year's indicators.

In the areas where wheat is grown, rains have fallen, which had a positive effect on the condition of the plantings. Currently, on 45.3% of the total wheat sowing area, the amount of available moisture is considered sufficient. The share of wheat in excellent and good condition is 67% (compared to 68% last year).
