Significant part of the Sverdlovsk region districts starts spring sowing, according to information from the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Center for Agroanalytics".

As reported, by May 13, 29.3 thousand hectares were cultivated. Of these, 20.8 thousand hectares are allocated for cereals. Spring sowing plans were fulfilled only by 6.1% as of the mentioned date.

Information from local authorities shows that the total sown area in the region will exceed 760 thousand hectares. To ensure a high-quality feed base for livestock farming, a large part of the land is allocated for forage crops (47%). Almost 44% will be sown with cereals and legumes. An increase in the use of domestic varieties is noted, including Ural ones: for oilseed crops - up to 77%, for cereals - up to 96%, for corn - up to 100%.
