From the report presented by the Eurasian Sugar Association, it is known that as of today, June 10, 2024, there are four sugar factories operating in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. Out of this number, three are located in Kazakhstan and produce sugar from sugarcane raw sugar, while one factory is located in Russia and produces sugar from beet molasses.
The report also indicates that in Russia, since the beginning of the 2023 crop processing season, 6.82 million tons of sugar have been produced, including 173.5 thousand tons obtained from syrup and molasses. Together with other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, during the same period, 263.1 thousand tons of sugar have been rapidly produced from beet syrup and molasses.
The total amount of sugar produced in the Eurasian Economic Union region since the beginning of the 2023/24 season amounts to 7.62 million tons. Additionally, it is worth noting that in Kazakhstan, specialists have produced an additional 17 thousand tons of sugar from sugarcane raw sugar.
