In the coming days, a significant cooling is expected in the southern regions of the European part of Russia, in the Volga region, and in the Urals, as reported by the scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand.
According to him, cold weather is expected for a week in the southern regions of the European part of Russia and in the east - in the Volga region and the Urals.
He specified that in the Bryansk, Oryol, and Lipetsk regions, the temperature will be 6 degrees below normal and will reach minus 15 - minus 17 degrees. In the Tambov, Voronezh, Kursk, and Belgorod regions, the temperature will be 6-8 degrees below normal and will drop to minus 19 degrees.
At the same time, in the southern regions of the European part of Russia, snow covers the fields, so there is no threat to winter crops.
In the Volgograd region, the most severe frosts are expected to be 6-9 degrees below normal, with a nighttime minimum temperature from minus 15 to minus 20 degrees. In the Rostov region, the temperature will be 7-9 degrees below normal, with minimum values of minus 15 - minus 19 degrees.
Even in the Krasnodar Territory, the temperature will be 6-13 degrees below normal, a similar situation will occur in Adygea, where the temperature background will be 11-15 degrees below normal.
In the Stavropol Territory and in all North Caucasian republics from February 20 to 23, temperatures 6-13 degrees below normal are expected, with a minimum temperature from minus 13 to minus 25 degrees.
In the Volga Federal District, cold weather is expected in all constituent entities of the district 6-7 degrees below normal. In Mordovia and Tatarstan, the temperature will be from minus 20 to minus 22 degrees. In Udmurtia, in the Perm Territory - down to minus 24 - minus 26 degrees. In the Orenburg region up to minus 26 degrees. In the Ulyanovsk, Samara, Saratov, and Penza regions, the minimum temperature will be in the range of minus 20 - minus 22 degrees.
Low temperatures are also expected in the Urals regions. In the Sverdlovsk region, the temperature will be 6 degrees below normal, with minimum values of minus 23 - minus 25 degrees. In the Chelyabinsk and Kurgan regions, the temperature will be 6-9 degrees below normal, with a minimum temperature of minus 26 - minus 29 degrees.
Finally, in the Irkutsk region from February 19 to 21, temperatures 6-8 degrees below normal are expected, with a minimum temperature of up to minus 33 - minus 36 degrees. In Buryatia, the temperature will be 6 degrees below normal, and the minimum value will be minus 31 - minus 34 degrees.
