During the 2024 processing season, five plants of the "Astarta" holding achieved an impressive milestone by processing 380,000 tons of sugar. This is the highest figure in the last seven years. The news was published on January 9 by the company's press service on their Facebook page.
Overall, according to the announcement, the plants processed over 2.5 million tons of sugar beets grown in the fields of the agro-industrial holding and its agricultural partners.
Despite quality problems caused by unpredictable weather conditions, the holding managed to reach a level of sugar production waste at 14.96%, exceeding the national average in Ukraine (14.06% as of January 1, 2025). According to the NASU "Ukrtsukor," this is the best result in the industry for the 2024 processing season.
An important achievement of the season was the commissioning of a new silo for sugar storage. Its capacity is 60,000 tons. This will improve the quality of sugar storage and optimize logistics, as noted in the announcement.
