Grain export from the Volgograd region in 2024 increased by 4.8% to 941.6 thousand tons. The grain was supplied to 30 countries around the world, including Turkey, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Belarus.

The harvest amounted to 4 million tons, unlike the previous year when more than 6 million tons were harvested.

The volume of grain exports and its processing from the Volgograd region in 2024 increased by 4.8% compared to the previous year, reaching 941.6 thousand tons, according to the Interfax agency citing data from the Volgograd branch of the Federal Center for Assessment of Safety and Quality of Agricultural Products (FGBU "FAO APK").

Grain from the Volgograd region was exported to 30 countries worldwide using water and rail transport. The main exporting countries include Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Latvia, Mongolia, UAE, Iraq, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.

In 2024, shipments of buckwheat groats and millet to Turkey, sorghum to Iraq, and lentils to Azerbaijan were sent for the first time.

Despite challenging agrometeorological conditions, farmers in the Volgograd region harvested 4 million tons of grain in 2024. In the previous year, the grain harvest in the region exceeded 6 million tons.
