This year, there is a change in the structure of agricultural exports: significant growth is observed in the supply of value-added products. This was reported by the director of the federal center "Agroexport" Ilya Ilyushin at a press conference. According to his data, the export of processed meat products has increased by 15%, pasta by 23%, frozen products by 40%, beer by 19%, non-alcoholic beverages by 3%, coffee by 71%. Also noted is the growth in the export of confectionery products by 6%, grape wines by 21%, spirits by 37%, fish fillet by 15%.
Significantly increased are the supplies of livestock products to the global markets. For example, the export of meat and by-products has increased by 44% and exceeded the $1 billion mark, reported Ilyushin. Standout increases include poultry meat exports by 30%, pork by 76%, beef and by-products of cattle by 12%.
As for dairy products, a moderate growth is noticeable, linked to the main focus of enterprises on meeting domestic demand.
As reported by the publication "Agroinvestor," citing the information system of the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance "VetIS," in the first half of this year, Russian producers increased the volume of meat exports from 351.5 thousand tons to 440.4 thousand tons in natural expression. There is also an increase in poultry meat and by-products exports from 168.5 thousand tons to 187.6 thousand tons, pork from 87.4 thousand tons to 137.8 thousand tons. Beef exports increased by 5%, reaching 18.8 thousand tons.
There has also been an increase in the export of dairy products abroad, including whey, cheeses, cottage cheese, yogurts, and kefir by 13%, with some types of products increasing in volume by more than twofold. The director noted that there is potential for further growth in processed food, meat, and dairy products, which constitute over 40% of the world's agricultural product imports. However, the export of processed products faces serious challenges, such as certification, positioning, and ensuring the cold chain for meat, dairy products, and fish during delivery.
According to the Federal Customs Service, for January-May of this year, the export of food products and agricultural raw materials from Russia amounted to $15.3 billion, which is 13.7% lower than for the same period a year earlier. Vice Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev instructed the Ministry of Agriculture to take measures to increase the volume of agricultural product exports to the global markets. Industry association leaders will work with exporters to achieve the planned export volumes for this year.
