According to the information provided by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Krasnodar Region, beet processing plants in the region processed 8.449 million tons of beets in 2024, producing over 1.1 million tons of sugar. This accounts for 83.8% of the production in 2023. According to the publication "Kuban of Kommersant," the decrease in production volumes is linked to unfavorable weather conditions: high temperatures and insufficient precipitation, leading to a decrease in yield.
In the current season, 14 sugar factories in the Krasnodar Region operate, with a total processing capacity of up to 12.5 million tons of beets. The industry employs more than 6.3 thousand people. The largest producers continue to be the Uspensky Sugar Plant and the Leningrad Sugar Plant.
