The projects of the current month are being implemented in 18 regions, and the area covered with sunflowers as of September 5th is 744.6 thousand hectares.
In 2024, the sunflower sowing area in Russia increased to 10.9 million hectares, while in 2023 the crop was planted on 9.9 million hectares.
By the present moment, 6.8% of the harvest has been harvested. Krasnodar Krai takes the leading position with 47.9% of harvested areas, Stavropol Krai is in second place with a result of 41.4%, and the third place is taken by the Republic of Adygea with 33.4% of processed sunflower areas.

Rosstat data show that in 2023, sunflowers were sown on 9.9 million hectares, which is 2.5% less than in 2022. The total harvest was 17.3 million tons (+5.5% compared to 2022) with a yield of 18.4 centners per hectare (+0.6 centners per hectare compared to 2022).
The highest sunflower yield was recorded in the regions of the Central Federal District. In Lipetsk Oblast, the yield was 36 c/ha, in Kursk Oblast - 26.4 c/ha, and in Tambov Oblast - 24.1 c/ha.
In addition, good results in sunflower yield were registered in the Kabardino-Balkar Republic - 31.3 c/ha.
