The Novosibirsk company "EPT", part of the "New Overland Grain Corridor" group of companies, plans to supply 26 million tons of grain to Iran from 2024 to 2035. An agreement to this effect was signed during the official visit of the Iranian delegation to Moscow, according to TASS news agency.
"It is planned to supply 26 million tons of grain from 2024 to 2035, with the possibility of increasing it to 55 million tons," the company said.
The agreement was signed with the Iranian logistics company IranianEurasia Trading and Logistics, which is a resident of the special economic zone "Sarakh. This zone serves as a key transit route between countries in Central Asia and the Middle East. Grain will be delivered to Iran in specialized grain containers, and in return, consumer goods and food products will be transported back.
The agreement also involves the joint creation of overland grain and transport-logistics infrastructure in the Sarakh special economic zone using advanced Russian technologies, according to the press service statement.
The company notes that the agreement aims to ensure food security for Russia and Iran, as well as to increase bilateral trade. It is also seen as a contribution to the development of the international transport corridor "North-South."
The industrial-export company "EPT" is part of the "New Overland Grain Corridor" group of companies, which is implementing a program with the same name with the support of the President of the Russian Federation, the government, intergovernmental commissions, and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
