The Altyn Shyghys raw material processing plant from Kazakhstan will send a batch of crude sunflower oil to China. According to the order from the state-owned company Sinograin, responsible for grain reserves formation in China, the buyer of the finished product will be the Chinese company CITIC Construction Co Ltd. This information was reported by Prodcorporation, citing APK News.
The agreements involve processing sunflower seeds at the Kazakh plant with subsequent shipment of the oil to China. This supply is carried out within the framework of the program to consolidate export batches of agricultural products, launched by Prodcorporation last year to support farmers and producers. Its essence lies in combining small volumes of products from various suppliers into full-fledged export batches and ensuring their delivery abroad. At the same time, the corporation provides full transportation support.
In 2024, as part of the consolidation project, 6 export contracts were signed for the supply of grains and oilseeds worth $20 million to China and Central Asia. Prodcorporation has continued its work and has already delivered 1,600 tons of domestically produced feed meal to China.
The cooperation of the industry ministry, Prodcorporation, and international partners contributes to the release of Kazakhstani products to foreign markets. The contract with CITIC Construction is one of the results of bilateral meetings in Astana and Beijing involving representatives of the agribusiness. The representation of Prodcorporation in China actively engages in dialogue with Chinese investors and companies.
Today, the focus of Kazakhstan's agricultural policy is shifting towards deep processing. Through projects such as the consolidation program and the three-way forward purchase, the corporation helps local producers enter foreign markets, stimulates the utilization of processing plants, and creates additional value within the country, supporting small and medium-sized farmers.
CITIC Construction Co. Ltd is a division of the Chinese state-owned company CITIC Group, specializing in implementing infrastructure, industrial, and agricultural projects. In the agricultural sector, the company is considering the construction of a grain deep-processing plant in Kazakhstan.
