The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has fulfilled its obligations to provide free grain supplies to Africa: 200,000 tons have been sent to Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Mali, Somalia, CAR, and Eritrea.

The first batch was delivered to Somalia in November 2020, with the next shipments scheduled for early 2021.

According to Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Russia has quickly fulfilled its obligations to provide free grain to African countries facing the most difficult situations. This information is reported by TASS.

As stated in the decision made at the "Russia-Africa" summit, announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin, 200,000 tons of grain were delivered by ships to Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, Mali, Somalia, the Central African Republic (CAR), and Eritrea, as emphasized by Zakharova.

"The first batch of grain was delivered to Somalia in November of last year," added the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry. - "In January of this year, humanitarian cargo was delivered to Burkina Faso, Mali, Somalia, and Cameroon, where the wheat will be processed into flour and sent to the CAR. Currently, grain is being transported to Zimbabwe."
