In Ouagadougou, a ceremony was held for the transfer by Russia of 25 thousand tons of grain as humanitarian aid to Burkina Faso. The Russian Ambassador to Cote d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso, Alexey Saltykov, reported the delivery of the cargo, cited by TASS.
"The entire cargo, consisting of 25 thousand tons of grain, was delivered to the territory of Burkina Faso from the port of Abidjan (Cote d'Ivoire). It will be distributed among the residents in need, mainly among the widows of Burkina Faso defenders and disabled people," Saltykov noted.
The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation, and Burkina Abroad, Karamoko Jean Marie Traore, and the Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts, and Tourism, Remtallaba Jean Emmanuel Ouedraogo. Also present were representatives of the press and the Russian diaspora.
Recall that earlier Russia sent a shipment of 25 thousand tons of grain to Somalia. The decision on humanitarian supplies to several African countries was made by Vladimir Putin at the second Russia-Africa summit.
