Record quality: over 50% of sunflower yield in Altai is classified as grades 1 and 2!

More than half of the sunflower crop in the Altai Territory has been tested, with 58.3% of the seeds being of grades 1 and 2, and 41.2% of grade 3. In the Krasnoshchekovsky and Kurinsky districts, more than half are of the highest quality.

In 2024, the export of sunflower from the region exceeded 168,000 tons, with the main importer being Kazakhstan. 33.7 thousand tons of kernels were shipped to China and Belarus.

According to research conducted at the Altai branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center" of the Altai Territory, more than 50% of the sunflower crop harvested in the region was tested by mid-December. Of these, 58.3% of the seeds were classified as grades 1 and 2, while 41.2% fell into grade 3.

Particularly impressive are the results of the Krasnoschekovsky and Kurynsky districts, where farmers managed to grow more than 50% of high-quality sunflower. In Novichikhinsky, Pospelikhinsky, Troitsky, Ust-Kalmansky, Ust-Pristansky, and Charyshsky districts, high indicators were also achieved: the quality of sunflower in these areas did not fall below grade 2.

The Altai branch also notes a constant demand for local sunflower abroad.

Over the 11 months of 2024, more than 168 thousand tons of sunflower were exported from the region. Kazakhstan was the main importer. Also in demand is processed sunflower seeds: 33.7 thousand tons of sunflower kernels were exported, mainly to China and Belarus.
