The leading managerial employee in the field of plant cultivation, mechanization, use of chemicals, and plant protection of the agriculture department of the Russian Federation, Roman Nekrasov, noted that the production of fruits and berries aims to reach a level of 46.4%.
It is planned to increase the volume of rice harvest in the North Caucasus by almost twice by 2030. According to the director of the department of crop production, mechanization, chemicalization, and plant protection of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Roman Nekrasov, the presentation at the Caucasian Investment Forum confirms this fact.
"Development of plant cultivation in the North Caucasus: <...> rice - 123 thousand tons in 2020, <...> 172.9 thousand tons in 2024, 323.9 thousand tons in 2030," the presentation noted.
The grain harvest in 2024 reached 11.5 million tons, and it is planned to increase it to over 14 million tons by 2030. "Since the beginning of 2020, we started the production of fruits and berries - 555 thousand tons, in 2024 we reached 1 million tons, in other words, we practically 'doubled' in five years. The plan is to increase this volume to 1.6 million tons by 2030," explained Nekrasov.
According to his statements, the share of the North Caucasus in fruit and berry production in Russia was 3.6% in 2021, in 2024 - 45.5%, with a target to reach 46.4% by 2030.
