During the meeting on Thursday, the OPEC+ Ministerial Committee did not provide any recommendations regarding changes in production policy and did not outline a possible start of a gradual phase-out of voluntary cuts in October.
In June, OPEC and its allies agreed to extend voluntary cuts of 2.2 million barrels per day until the end of September, with a statement about a gradual reduction from October 2024 to September 2025.
The analytical committee, which regularly meets every two months and can provide recommendations on OPEC+ policy, stated that plans for gradual cessation of voluntary restrictions could be paused or canceled depending on the current market situation.
The group also analyzed crude oil production data for May and June, noting full compliance with overall targets. It also highlighted that Iraq, Kazakhstan, and Russia reassured their full compliance with promised cuts after presenting plans for compensating excess production.
