There was significant price instability in the Ukrainian sunflower market last week, driven by similar dynamics in the sunflower oil market.
After some price increase the week before, during the reporting period, the demand for sunflower decreased again, and prices fluctuated in the range of 26,000 to 26,800 hryvnias per ton of FOB-enterprise. Companies were willing to pay up to 27,300 hryvnias per ton of FOB for high oleic sunflower.
Overall, trading pace slowed down due to the unstable price situation and the sufficient stock levels held by major market players. It is worth noting that in March-April, sunflower processing volumes increased compared to previous months, leading to higher sunflower oil exports.
