According to the deputy head of the National Development and Reform Commission Zhao Chenxin, even if they do not purchase feed grains and vegetable oil from America, it will have little impact on their grain supply.
The Chinese official emphasized that their country will easily be able to compensate for the cessation of exports from the USA by increasing domestic production and supplies from other countries.
Earlier in China, they stated that they are ready to discuss tariffs with the United States.
On April 23, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Washington will reduce tariffs on goods from China, but they will not be completely eliminated. The White House chief noted that the current tariffs on goods from China are extremely high.
On April 25, Trump reported that the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping had spoken with him. During their conversation, the US President compared U.S.-China trade relations to "a huge, luxurious store where everyone wants to shop."
