Kaliningrad region will reduce customs duties on grain exports: a boost for agricultural development.

The Governor of the Kaliningrad Region proposed to reduce customs duties on exported grain. The idea was approved at the meeting of the Government Commission. In 2024, the region exported more than 500,000 tons of grain, predominantly wheat, while harvesting over 750,000 tons of crops.

In April of this year, the head of the Kaliningrad region, Alexey Besprozvannykh, presented the idea of ​​reducing customs duties on grain crops exported from the region at a meeting of the Government Commission on Economic Development. This proposal was positively accepted, as reported on the official website of the regional government.

“The next stage is the formal approval of this decision by protocol and it requires some time,” the governor explained during a meeting with farmers from Pravdinsky district.

In 2024, more than 750 thousand tons of grain were harvested in the Kaliningrad region with an average yield of 60.5 centners per hectare. Over 500 thousand tons of grain were sent for export. Mostly, wheat accounted for over 90% of the total export volume. Additionally, the region exported corn and barley in small quantities.
