According to the latest data from the state grain monitoring in the Rostov region, as of August 21, 13,855 samples were taken from the total harvested volume of 9.754.8 million tons of wheat, which constituted 97.47% of the total volume of soft wheat. The information was provided by the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center." The gross wheat harvest in the Rostov region amounted to 10 million tons.
According to the results of more than 200,000 tests of the new soft wheat harvest in the Don region, conducted at the Rostov branch laboratory, it was revealed that 67.8% of the grain meets food requirements. Of these, 18% are classified as class 3, 49.8% as class 4, and 32.2% as class 5, reported the director of the Rostov branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center" - Iya Leonova.
This year, the state monitoring study of wheat is conducted free of charge for agricultural enterprises. Grain samples are collected by specialists from the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center" and undergo testing in an accredited laboratory. Grain is evaluated based on several characteristics, such as color, odor, moisture, falling number, gluten content, protein content, vitreousness, as well as other parameters that affect the grain's intended use and its price. The results are entered into the FGIS "Grain."
It is planned that specialists from the Rostov branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center" will conduct a study of approximately 10 million tons of grain during the state monitoring in 2024. As a result, 14,508 samples will be taken, and the number of conducted studies will be around 290,000.
