On August 12, the branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Grain Quality Assessment Center" in the Republic of Tatarstan issued safety and quality certificates, a NON-GMO certificate, as well as a phytosanitary quarantine conclusion for a batch of wheat intended for export to the People's Republic of China. The branch's team of specialists also carried out the disinfection of the products. On August 13, according to the plan, a railway freight train with 76 containers of wheat totaling nearly 2,000 tons was sent from Kazan to China.
The possibility of sending this shipment became possible as a result of signing the Protocol between the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation and the Main State Administration for Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China on phytosanitary requirements for wheat exported from Russia to China. It is important to note that this fact was particularly emphasized by the director of the branch of the FSBI "Grain Quality Assessment Center" in the Republic of Tatarstan, Tatyana Menlikieva.
In addition, since the beginning of 2024, by August 14, under the supervision of the specialists of the FSBI "Grain Quality Assessment Center", 4.2 thousand tons of barley grain have been sent to China, which is equivalent to 142 containers. This is 40% more than in the same period last year.
