In the Ulyanovsk region, agricultural products intended for export increased by 29% over the year, exceeding the $20 million mark. These data were presented at the Ministry of Agriculture of the region.
According to the department, by the end of 2024, the total export volume in the sector reached $20.3 million, exceeding the planned target of $15.7 million, with a growth rate of 29%. The main products traditionally exported include cereal crops such as wheat for food purposes, corn for feed, and barley for livestock feed. Additionally, exports include flour, pearl barley, flax seeds, sunflower and rapeseed oil.
Export goods are sent to Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, China, Iran, Poland, Latvia, South Korea, Uzbekistan, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. This is done within the framework of the "International Cooperation and Export" project. As noted by Governor Alexey Russkih, special attention is paid to using the trade and logistics route "Middle Volga – Caspian Sea – Persian Gulf."
This year, support for local companies will continue in the region, along with efforts to retrain exporters for trading in friendly markets.
