By 2025, 371.6 thousand hectares of winter crops were sown in the Tambov region, including 366.1 thousand hectares of wheat, 1.8 thousand hectares of rye, 1.7 thousand hectares of rapeseed, and 2.0 thousand hectares of triticale.
The first top dressing brought positive results for winter crops, as the condition of plants is characterized as good on 95% of the areas. Plant losses were recorded only on 5.8 thousand hectares, which is 1.6%. Alena Sytova reported that the soil moisture is at an appropriate level. However, to maintain plant health, it is recommended to carry out additional top dressing with nitrogen fertilizers.
The forecast clearly indicates that the total cultivated area in 2025 will be around 1.9 million hectares, which is 3 thousand hectares more than the previous year. The crop rotation structure corresponds to the recommendations of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia. Agricultural producers in the region continue to demonstrate high productivity, sowing around 60 thousand hectares every day.
631.8 million rubles (50% of the limit) have already been allocated for the development of crop production. In addition, 208.1 million rubles have been directed towards agro-insurance, which is 23% more than in 2024.
Agricultural producers are also offered the opportunity to obtain preferential loans. Currently, 215 applications have been approved for a total amount of 7.36 billion rubles. In the field of crop production, 52 applications have been supported for a total of 6.07 billion rubles.
“Spring field work in the Tambov region is progressing according to plan, farmers are actively approaching their goals. However, the weather is not always predictable, and the experience of the previous year has shown how important it is to have insurance, especially in gardening. Municipalities should be more actively involved in this area,” emphasized the Acting Deputy Head of the region - Minister of Agriculture Alena Sytova.
