Tracking data provided by the Grain Exchange of Buenos Aires in Argentina indicate that by the end of April this year, 31.3% of the corn fields have been harvested (an increase of 9.3% over the past week).
Experts note a slowdown in the harvesting campaign due to abundant rainfall, as well as farmers prioritizing soybean harvesting.
Information also shows that by the end of April, the share of grain crops in poor and very poor condition is 20%, compared to 40% last year; in satisfactory condition is 42%, with the remaining 38% in good and excellent condition.
The projected corn harvest in Argentina remains at 49 million tons.
