At the meeting of trade ministers of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov told journalists that one of the priorities in increasing mutual trade in agricultural products is the issue of wheat supplies to Thailand. Reshetnikov emphasized the importance of not only exporting wheat, but also mutual shipments of fruits, rice, and other products.
The Minister of Economic Development also emphasized the importance of trade and investment development. He noted the active investments of CP Foods in Russia and the use of Russian lands to grow soybeans, which are exported to Asian markets, including Thailand and China. Reshetnikov also mentioned that negotiations are underway for wheat supplies, as well as fertilizers, which are important for ensuring future crops.
Reshetnikov highlighted that the development of trade and investments between Russia and Thailand can prevent food crises and inflation. He added that the Russian and Thai economies are diversified and complement each other in various aspects.
