Vice Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Patrushev, relying on information from the Ministry of Agriculture, confirms the forecast for grain harvest in Russia for the current year to be around 135 million tons, as reported by the Interfax agency.
"At the moment, the agricultural sector is entering a crucial phase of the year - the harvest season. Work has already begun in 22 regions. According to a representative of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the forecast indicators for the main agricultural crops, including the collection of approximately 135 million tons of grain, are being maintained," he said at a meeting of the governmental commission on agricultural, industrial complex, fisheries and sustainable rural development.
According to Rosstat data for the year 2024 (excluding new regions), grain production in the Russian Federation amounted to 125.9 million tons, of which 82.6 million tons accounted for wheat. Considering the new regions, the Ministry of Agriculture estimates the harvest at 129.8 million tons.
