The United States Department of Agriculture in its latest report has not changed its forecast for wheat production in Russia for the current year (July 2024 - June 2025) - 81.5 million tons. However, they have increased the estimate of carryover stocks from 8.24 million to 9.24 million tons.
The forecast for wheat exports from Russia has been reduced by 1 million tons compared to the previous December report and now stands at 46 million tons.
The forecast for corn production has been raised by 250 thousand tons to 13.25 million tons. The forecast for corn exports remains unchanged at 3.3 million tons, with carryover stocks estimated at 0.36 million tons.
Production of feed grains has been reduced by 530 thousand tons to 33.97 million tons, with exports estimated at 6.23 million tons (compared to 6.2 million in the previous month). Carryover stocks will be 0.83 million tons.
The forecast for wheat exports to the European Union remains unchanged at 29 million tons. Likewise, the forecast for wheat production in the EU remains unchanged at 121.3 million tons.
The forecast for wheat production in Ukraine is estimated at 22.9 million tons, as in the previous report. Meanwhile, the forecast for wheat exports has been reduced by 500 thousand tons to 16 million tons, with carryover stocks at 0.99 million tons. Forecasts for corn production and exports remain unchanged at 26.5 million tons and 23 million tons, respectively.
The forecast for wheat production in Kazakhstan remains unchanged at 18 million tons. Exports also remain unchanged at 10 million tons. Production stocks are estimated at 3.85 million tons.
The forecast for world wheat production for this year has been slightly increased to 793.24 million tons (290 thousand tons more). The forecast for feed grain production is 1.494.29 billion tons (compared to 1.499.13 billion tons in the previous report), and for corn - 1.214.35 billion tons (compared to 1.217.89 billion tons).
The USDA does not include data on Crimea and other new territories in its forecasts.
