The agro-industrial sector of the Urals Federal District is an important component of the Russian economy. Each year, more than 4% of the total volume of grain and leguminous crops, 8.7% of potatoes, and 3.5% of vegetables are produced here nationwide.
According to plans for the year 2025, the sown area in the Urals Federal District will be 5 million hectares, which is approximately equal to the previous year's figure.
There are also plans to increase the sown areas of oil crops by 12%.
In mid-April, field work begins in the southern part of the Urals Federal District. Meeting participants note that preparations for the sowing campaign in the regions are going smoothly. Farmers are fully provided with the necessary materials and technical resources. Currently, tested and ready-to-sow seeds of grain and leguminous crops represent 94% of the expected demand.
Andrey Razin emphasized to the heads of regional authorities managing the agro-industrial complex the importance of adhering to planned distribution of sown areas, purchasing mineral fertilizers and agricultural machinery, as well as observing fire safety measures.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture also highlighted the need for prompt provision of state support to beneficiaries. Special attention is recommended to be paid to the use of unused agricultural land.
