In the Bashmakovsky, Vadinsky, Gorodishchensky, Kamensky, Kuznetsky, Maloserdobinsky, Mokshansky, Narovchatsky, Neverkinsky, Pachelmsky, Serdobsky and Tamalinsky districts, farmers cultivate wheat, barley, oats, and peas.
This year, the area under spring crops in the Penza region will amount to 1,134,000 hectares.
"Increasing the sown area by 50,000 hectares compared to last year will be possible thanks to the state support for farmers and the introduction of new lands into agricultural circulation," the governor emphasized.
During the crop rotation, sugar beets, rapeseed, sunflowers, soybeans, corn will also be planted, as well as planting potatoes and vegetables.
For the 2025 harvest, 374.6 thousand hectares of winter wheat, 2.8 thousand hectares of winter rye, and 2.1 thousand hectares of winter triticale were processed. At present, farmers are engaged in fertilizing agricultural crops.
"Our main annual priority is to ensure food security in the Penza region, supply agricultural products to other regions, as well as increase exports to strengthen economic stability," summed up the head of the region.
