The National Investment Company "NIBULON" is launching a large-scale project to achieve energy independence at its enterprise by installing its own solar power plants (SPP). The official statement on this matter was released by the company's press service on February 6th.
Currently, the pilot project has already been implemented at the reloading terminal in Mykolaiv, where 106 solar panels with a total capacity of 60.95 kW have been installed.
In the near future, it is planned to install an additional 573 solar panels, which will increase the total capacity to 349.6 kW. It is expected that the annual electricity savings that the enterprise will be able to achieve thanks to the use of solar energy will amount to 61.3 MWh, significantly reducing electricity expenses.
One of the key advantages of using solar panels is their positive impact on the environment. Thanks to the implementation of this project, emissions of CO2 have already been reduced by 1.75 tons. In addition, the electricity savings achieved through SPP are equivalent to planting 120 trees, which also holds promise for improving the environmental situation. The installation of solar panels also contributes to reducing the use of diesel generators, which in turn reduces CO emissions when the generators are operating at low power.
However, "NIBULON" is not limited to just the terminal in Mykolaiv and plans to install solar power plants at its branches. Research is currently underway to determine the possibility of placing solar panels at the company's branches with high energy consumption and sufficient space for panel installation. This step will not only help reduce electricity costs but also enhance the environmental and energy efficiency of the company's operations.
