During his business trip, Dmitry Yashin visited the organization LLC "Bozhedary", where he thoroughly studied agriculture and seed production processes in Belarus. He also gained valuable experience in preparing seeds of open-pollinated Siberian crops and explored advanced technology at OJSC "Agrocombine Nesvizhsky".
During the meeting at the Scientific and Practical Center of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Belarus, issues of seed production organization in the country were discussed, including cooperation between the state, breeding centers, and seed farms.
Discussions also focused on the development direction of breeding centers and seed enterprises, as well as general approaches to state support of the agricultural sector, including seed production.
Representatives discussed monitoring systems for the quality of planting material of agricultural crops, laboratory accreditation, seed certification, control of the spread of quarantine organisms, as well as the importance of developing a registry of permitted varieties of agricultural crops such as sugar beet, corn, sunflower, forage crops, and others.
