«Agrivolga» (part of the «Agranta» group) has started implementing the delivery of natural goat meat, and in the near future, shipments will become regular, as announced by the company. “Organic product enthusiasts care about their health and always strive to expand their assortment. The new stage in the meat and dairy production development strategy of the “Agrivolga” holding contributes to promoting the “Ugleche Pole” brand and its distribution in retail chains,” noted Anna Khvorostyanaya, Director of the Strategic Marketing Department at Agranta.
A company representative explained to «Agroinvestor» that organic goat meat is a unique product, its sales will not be extensive, and it will only be available in the "Organic Market" store chain. Goat kids aged 7-10 months of the Toggenburg breed (originally from the Alps) are used to produce the meat.
According to the holding's director Oleg Dolinny, Toggenburg goats provide high-quality and aromatic milk without shades and foreign tastes, and are also interested in breeding for meat. The meat of these goats does not have the typical intense odors of goat meat, it is more tender than other breeds, juicy and delicious, he notes. "Goat farming is becoming an increasingly popular direction in our time, despite its complexities," adds the CEO.
The Agrivolga holding purchased a herd of breeding Toggenburg goats in Austria in 2021. Currently, the herd consists of 264 individuals, of which 153 are milking. The company has started producing pasteurized goat milk, after which organic cheeses made from goat's milk under the brand "Ugleche Pole" appeared in stores: Buche de Chevre, Fromage Frais, Tomino di Capra, Capra Classico. The production volumes of goat's milk exceed 4 tons per month. Plans to increase the herd are not disclosed at the moment, according to a representative of the agro-holding.
