Agricultural workers in the Zabaikalsky Krai have started spring sowing on an area of 3.7 thousand hectares, with an expected increase in the sown area to 171.5 thousand hectares.

Agricultural workers from three districts of Zabaykalsky Krai have started their spring works. Currently sown: rapeseed - 3.2 thousand hectares, wheat - 300 hectares, barley - 200 hectares. The second decade of May marks the mass emergence onto the fields. The sown area will increase by 10 thousand hectares. This year it is planned to sow grain crops on 97.4 thousand hectares, rapeseed - on 44.5 thousand hectares, sunflower - on 8.3 thousand hectares.

Agricultural workers from three municipal districts of the Trans-Baikal Territory have started spring field works, as announced by the interim head of the regional Ministry of Agriculture - Alexander Tyukavkin.

"Farmers from Chernyshevsky, Krasnochikoysky, and Uletovsky districts have begun sowing spring crops. Currently, the sown area amounts to 3.7 thousand hectares: rapeseed sown on 3.2 thousand hectares, wheat on 300 hectares, barley on 200 hectares," the acting minister reported.

A mass exit of farms to the fields to start the sowing campaign is expected in the early second decade of May. The total sown area in the Trans-Baikal Territory this year will be 171.5 thousand hectares, which is 10 thousand hectares more than last year.
