The authorities of the Republic of Karelia continue to actively support the agricultural sector of the region. In 2024, approximately 30 agricultural enterprises received state financial assistance totaling more than 900 million rubles from federal and republican budgets, according to the public relations department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia.
These funds are aimed at several key directions for the development of the agricultural sector, namely: improving animal husbandry, developing dairy processing industry, increasing potato and vegetable production, carrying out land reclamation activities, enhancing soil fertility, acquiring seeds, as well as creating and developing peasant farms.
In addition, to ensure effective preparation for the spring agricultural works of 2025, additional 59 million rubles have been allocated to agricultural enterprises in the region. These measures are aimed at ensuring stable growth of the agricultural sector and increasing the food security of the region.
