The forecast for grain production in the world for 2024 has been raised to 2854 million tons due to the growth in feed grains. Consumption is also higher than last year. Grain stocks will remain high by the end of 2025. Global grain trade remains stable, with changes in the export of various types of grain.

Indonesia has increased grain imports from Russia: this year 95 thousand tons were purchased for $26.1 million, which is 11 times more than the previous year. The total volume for six months reached 782.6 thousand tons for $221.4 million, which is 80% of last year's shipments.

Prices for sugar have risen: SBK24 futures closed at +0.27 (19.54; +1.40%), ICE №5 SWQ24 rose by +9.60 (568.90; +1.72%). Conab reduced the forecast for sugar production in Brazil for the 2023/24 season, but increased the forecast for ethanol production.

Russia will increase the export of agricultural products to Chile, focusing on wheat. By 2030, exports could reach $110-111 million. In recent years, Chile has been actively purchasing plant and animal products from Russia. Experts believe that the future of trade will depend on consumer preferences in Chile, especially on prices of goods.

In the Tomsk region, participants of the competition used drones to transport hay and complete the track. The goal was to attract youth to unmanned technologies in agriculture.

The area of ​​new gardens in the Krasnodar region has increased to 650 hectares, and it is planned to add another 1200 hectares. The production of seedlings has doubled from 3 million to 6.5 million pieces. The gardens are densely planted - up to 5 thousand seedlings per hectare. State support for gardeners has increased by 55% to 1 billion rubles.

On March 26, 2024, 75,000 tons of Russian wheat were exported from the Novorossiysk port to Sri Lanka. This is the second large shipment in two years. The high quality of the product makes Russian wheat competitive: in the first 2 months of 2024, 5.4 million tons were exported to 33 countries.

The Vologda Region has increased its exports of chocolate to Vietnam, caviar to Jordan, and the Maldives. The production of dairy products and confectionery has also grown. The exports have doubled in the first 10 months of 2024, thanks to the national project "International Cooperation and Export".

Land has been analyzed for the presence of the herbicide clomazone, manganese, eggs, and parasitic larvae. Excessive levels were detected in 7.8% of the samples. The information has been reported to the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor).

Exceeding levels of clomazone can lead to plant growth retardation, while manganese slows down crop growth and may result in crop damage.
